Staff Accountant

Orora Packaging Solutions is seeking a passionate Staff Accountant to join our Business Service Center in Tempe, AZ

Summary of Role and How You’ll Fit In

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial and management accounting and reporting activities, internal auditing, budgeting, cost, financial analysis, and governmental reporting activities while ensuring the company’s accounting records fairly and accurately reflect the position of Orora Business Service Center, related divisions, and subsidiaries. In this role the Staff Accountant role will assist the accounting department in completing the month-end close, reconciling the balance sheet accounts, and resolves open items. This position will work on special projects and backs up the accounting department as needed.



Report To: Controller, Business Service Center





What Essential Duties You’ll be Responsible For



Completes month end close for assigned divisions/areas which includes all general ledger entries
Completes month-end account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
Coordinates the identification and compilation of information to provide accurate and timely reports to management and other appropriate internal organizations
Works with management to, re-engineer, and implement innovative processes to enhance accounting, finance and managerial reporting, and other accounting service functions
Works on accounts receivable and accounts payable problem accounts
Performs all responsibilities within the guidelines of corporate policies and directives at or above the company’s performance and evaluation standards
Backs up accounting department personnel as needed
Assign and/or complete special projects as directed by the Controller
Perform all responsibilities within the guidelines of corporate policies and directives at or above the company’s performance and evaluation standards
Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned


What We’re Looking For



Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Minimum 5 years related accounting experience
Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered




Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience completing month end close to include all general ledger entries
Experience completing month-end account reconciliations f or all balance sheet accounts
Experience working on accounts receivable and accounts payable problem accounts
Ability to identify accounting problems/issue and come up with creative solutions
Experience with completing budgets for upcoming fiscal year(s)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
A hands-on, results-oriented approach to business with a ‘can-do’ attitude
Possess a ‘customer first’ attitude; demonstrate passionate commitment for the customer and product quality

This position requires the ability to work in an office or cubicle environment in close physical proximity to other co-workers
